LOL

O Rly? Izzat your explanation? Well then allow me to retort!

If they have such a super duper light weight but strong alloy in the future, then *why* will they need slots in their blades? Hmmmmmm?

I actually did also buy the Samurai 3000 set... Still have them. Always disliked the slots, (still do) and they are even worse in this set. However the Katana, ironically was amazingly well balanced. And the sheath lock is a cool idea. And I liked the design of the cross guards. The grips... Meh.

The balance of the Katana, the saya lock and the guard style are the only reasons I have kept the set...

I purchased the Samurai 3000 set back in my early (read if it's a sword I'll buy it) sword days (they have since been pawned since I needed change), and each of the blades had slots. http://www.1800hart.com/blog/wp-content/Samurai_3000_Collection_Samurai_MW3000SP1_490.jpg

I figure an attempt at an explanation would be that they are blades from the 'future'. See, in the 'future' swords are no longer made with conventional steel. Get it? Since this new age 'futuristic' metal is virtually indestructible, slots became very dominant in the sword-making biz. There!

Out of that set I actually liked the straight edged blade, it was pretty. All of them were horribly hilt heavy, and some of them would even clank when you moved them too fast (yeah, THAT'S intimidating).

Well the thing is, the point on this weapon isn't actually bad. It's just not Ninja-to like... My understanding of the Shinobi philosophy was to have no frills, multipurpose weapons. They needed to be strong, and this one just doesn't seem like it would cut it in my book...

i think your right about the tip of the sword, i didnt agree at first, but when you mentioned the running through of a car door, i then saw the point(no pun intended).
