As far as I can tell, Nates claws were gravity claws, for lack of a better word. There were no springs or anything involved, so it would just require a flick of the arm to extend, and then he would have to manually unlock and push them back in…

Although Nates claws do have the basic mechanical ground work for an automatic mechanism, I’m afraid it would require a much deeper knowledge of the mechanics of OTF (Out The Front) switchblade design, safety and locking mechanisms to create a fully automatic version.

This design just wouldn’t be the best platform to start with for a fully automatic set. You would need to make extensive changes. So, unfortunately, you’re just gonna have to bite the bullet and wait till after you get that engineering degree…

while Nate clearly has the best looking claws i noticed there was no mention of his using springs to cause the claws to come out or retract…how could one alter Nate’s design to include spring activated/deactivated Wolverine claws without being an engineer? –thnx ;D
